I wouldn't really call a paid placement at a cafe an 'internship' - but for some reason, a lot of our students do. We call it a 'Casual Work Placement'. Casual work placements - not surprisingly - are offered as part of our Casual Work Experience Program. This program puts students from hospitality programs, or hospitality + ESL programs, into paid positions at cafes, restaurants, hotels and shops around Vancouver and out at resorts.
The picture above is of a student of ours from Taiwan named Jenson. Here Jenson is interviewing at a cafe. If hired he would be working as a server/cashier. It'll give him ample opportunity to practice both his English and his hospitality skills.
